IN HER HONOR

In Her Honor is a commemorative art project dedicated to honoring women of color who have passed due to maternal health complications. This initiative aims to shed light on the maternal health crisis, particularly in Black communities, while educating leaders, advocates, and the public toward meaningful, lasting change.

Please join us for IN HER HONOR - DETROIT, a three-day experience of art, storytelling, remembrance, and action dedicated to honoring mothers lost to maternal mortality and advancing maternal health justice. This special week begins with a special screening of the documentary Aftershock on August 26 at the Detroit Institute of Arts, followed by an Afterglow reception and discussion. This evening will provide an opportunity for attendees to gather in community, reflect on the film’s powerful message, and engage in meaningful dialogue about maternal health justice and the urgent need for systemic change. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the film will start promptly at 7:00 pm. Please make sure to RSVP through this link to secure your spot.
