State of the Mama is our annual series of events that we hold alongside the State of the State, State of the Union, and State of the city addresses. The purpose of this event is to empower mamas of color to take action on the policy issues that matter most for our families. We must hold elected officials accountable and let them know that we need our voices heard when policies are created that effect our communities.
STATE OF THE MAMA 2024: DETROIT
We encourage mamas and caregivers from across Metro Detroit to join us and make their presence known amongst our elected officials. In 2024, mamas are demanding some progress when it comes to guaranteeing affordable childcare, reproductive rights, quality and equitable maternal healthcare, and paid leave.
